Beads, Bling & More….Making Memories at Ornamentea

July 3, 2015

Isn’t it always more rewarding when you’ve created something and it carries a story, a meaning or a memory?

This happened for myself recently when my amazing mother-in-law & sister-in-law and I were looking to have an afternoon ladies outing.  Together we laugh and joke a lot so we needed  a place where we could let loose, but also try something different.

We decided to make some memories and some bling at Ornamentea located in the Raleigh area. Ornamentea is a crafters haven where you make jewelry or purchase fabulous goodies to make your own handmade projects.  When I first walked in all I thought was, “let the fun begin!Ornamentea had a huge variety of beads, gems, charms, ribbons, metals all that will inspire anyone to jump in and learn.  You can make delicate dainty jewelry to fun funky jewelry….love it! 🙂

Here we are about to jump into some fun! 🙂

Look at these projects that were displayed….Hello, lovelies!

Every wall, every corner from ceiling to floor was covered with happy projects waiting to be taken off the shelves.  My problem was I was so inspired & had so many ideas in my head I wanted to make it all!  Hee, hee!

I had to take a pic of this amazing chandelier. Love it!

Handcrafted beads….yup, they were talking to me!!

You can be a beginner, a novice or an I don’t know what the heck I’m doing person and still come into Ornamentea and leave with a gorgeous handcrafted piece.  Below is a pic of my sister-in-law picking out her beads for her necklace she brought in to redo.  (Yes, you can do that, too!)  There were so many choices of beads and baubles that we couldn’t stop laughing because we didn’t know where to start…..pure joy!

Hello, earrings!!!! I do love a unique pair of earrings. 🙂

Ornamentea has quiet work rooms in the back where you can create or this fabulous work station in the front of the store where you can begin your fun!  There was even a children’s birthday party going on in one of the work rooms while we there.

A red table workstation…I’m in!!!!! Everything looks better with red, I think! 🙂

The Ornamentea staff are the absolute best!  They will sit you down and explain the process, give you some tips and then let you soar into your own creativity.  The staff gave off the happiest vibe and they each had the best sense of humor which went perfect with our giggles and snorts.  You can tell they really enjoyed their jobs.  Hey, when your workplace is filled with color, fun & no holds barred inspiration wouldn’t you be a happy, too?!?  I definitely would!  What I loved best is that they were each patient enough to show us what to do and comfortable enough to push us to do it on our own.  The Ornamentea staff encourages you to keep trying and cheers you on during the process.

Here are a couple of pics of our creative process…

Check out my sis-in-law necklace she is wearing. Re-strung her fav necklace with fabulous blue & black beads. Looks gorgeous!

(I will have to update this post because I ran my mouth & giggled so much I didn’t finish my bracelet.  So, finished project pic coming soon!)

Check out Ornamentea’s website here along with their Facebook page here. From classes, tips, kits and anything a novice to an expert might need while making their own unique jewelry you will find here at Ornamentea.  Check them out and drop in to discover this gem  (hee, hee!) of a venue with a friend or family member. You will build memories, create beautiful jewelry and discover a whole new side to your creative self.

Have you tried something new recently with a friend or family member where you walked out building memories & maybe a little something to carry home?  Can’t wait to hear from you!

Thanks so much for stopping by A.I.M.!
