So, I’m no fashion guru, but I know what I like when I see it! Some of you out there might be “shoe ladies”, “purse ladies” or even “arm-party” (aka…bracelets) ladies. Although I love all those things I am truly an “earring lady”. Studs, Drops, Chandeliers, Hoops….bring ’em on! I love them all. Since my fashion runway is usually my kitchen, the gym and the soccer field if/when I do get a chance to dress up I like to have a beautiful statement earring.
With this said my lucky day came this week when a highly anticipated package arrived on my doorstep from BriellaSoul Creative Design. BriellaSoul is an amazing Etsy shop that carries crochted and tatted jewelry that will knock your socks off. I’d never made an Etsy purchase before (I know shocking ain’t it?!?), but when I saw these crochet and tatted earrings I had to have a pair or two or three…okay, yup three!
I’ll stop rambling….check it out….
Each of the pieces from BriellaSoul are crotched or tatted by the owner. (FYI…Tatting is an ancient art form of lace making that dates back to the 1800s.) The artistry put into each of these pieces is so intricately done and very delicate looking. However, with that being said the pieces are not floppy (no flimsy doilie-action going on here), but sturdy and will hold its’ shape very well. The multitude of style of earrings that are is their etsy page is very impressive because some are dainty while others bold looking. You are bound to find an earring or two that catches your attention.
Disclaimer…I rarely take selfies & post them. But, you can’t show earrings without seeing them on….right? So, I just chose the pics of me wearing the Chandelier. Didn’t get a chance to show off the other two. The heckling & giggling from my kiddos in the background made me cut this selfie session short. LOL!
The majority of my days I wear my hair up so having an earring that will pop or stand out is important to me. Also, having an earring that doesn’t weigh a pound is huge plus. These crochet & tatted earrings are light as a feather and have the look of the chandelier and drop earrings I enjoy wearing without the heavy weight.
BriellaSoul’s Creative Design crocheted and tatted earrings would be perfect for Mother’s Day, birthdays, holidays or even just a treat for yourself. (Nothing wrong with that!)
Hop on over to BriellaSoul’s Etsy page and check out the other styles & colors she has. If you like this modern twist on crocheting and tatting check out the other items she has in her shop….from scarves, to boot cuffs to beanies she does it all.
Earrings are a great way to enhance an outfit and are an easy finishing touch that will make you look & feel fabulous. I know I am going to enjoy wearing these beauties not just for their style, but because they were hand-made by an owner who cares about her product and her customer.
I had the great pleasure to connect with the owner of BriellaSoul Creative Design & asked her, “What Inspires You To Create”. Being the amazing person that she is she shared her own personal journey of inspiration and creativity. Take a look…
“Having been a creative person virtually all of my life, one of the first creative memories I have, is of looking through my grandmother’s collection of brightly colored yarn and thread and being in awe of the range of colors before me. How such a simple material can be transformed into intricate keepsakes.
However, my first experience in working with such materials didn’t happen until years later when I found myself somewhat “stuck” on a design concept while repurposing a skirt into a handbag. The piece I had been working on looked and felt incomplete to me. I wanted to add a pop of color in a medium other than what I had been working with, which at the time were fabrics. After sifting through a stash of cotton yarn, that creative spark reignited in me when I came across a ball of hot pink yarn. Just what this little handbag needed, I thought. As my mind raced with ideas of how to embellish this bag, I began to sketch some ideas. A concept that, up until that moment, was completely foreign to me. What evolved on paper was a rose, in which I decided to handcraft by using a crochet technique I researched and learned from an online tutorial.
Soon after this experience, I found myself crocheting scarves, hats and home decor items for family and friends. An art that is now instilled in me and that I use as the basis of all of my pieces.”
