#SpeakOutLove…Campaign to Stop Cyberbullying

This is a very short post, but I had to share.  So, being new to the blogging community I have jumped on board the Instagram train & have completely enjoyed all the image eye candy.  I’m mostly scanning through planner & stationery pics along with recipes & organizational tips.  There is some amazing stuff out there and the creativity that folks are sharing will knock your socks off!

While oogling all these images I came across the #SpeakOutLove campaign by a creative & fabulous IG user I have been following, @TiffanyIMA. Check out her new & beautiful style & motivational blog, “Tiffany Ima’s Thrifty Life”.)  The #SpeakOutLove campaign is being led by Instagram users @hazel_and_bean and @helloawesomeshop.  They are leading the movement to stop Cyberbullying across Instagram and all other social media genres.  Now I personally have not experienced any negative vibes through my trysts through IG & have been so grateful to any “likes” or comments that folks have shared with my posts.  The #SpeakOutLove campaign’s message of standing up against cyberbullying & not defining yourself by the opinions of others really touched me as a Mom & as a former educator.  I want to do my job to protect my own kiddos from Cyberbullying & also educate them on what to look for and how not to become a participant.  A simple sharing of the #SpeakOutLove image over IG was all I had to do to show my support so I jumped on board.

If this touches you somehow and you want to get involved hop on over to @Hazel_and_Bean on Instagram.  Click on the #SpeakOutLove image & share your email address with them.  They will email the #SpeakOutLove printout to you within a couple of hours.  You can then print it, take a creative pic of yourself with the printout (I chose to take my pic with my fav DIY magnet board that a sweet friend made for me.) and begin sharing over your own social media accounts.  🙂

Wow, I did say this was going to be a short post.  Sorry!  Okay, one more thing……here are some sites I have found helpful when talking to my kiddos about cyberbullying.

I have a one year old and another on the way, so I REALLY hope they won’t have to deal with bullying for a while, however, I do think it is important to educate myself and my husband now so we can prepare for it. This is a wonderful campaign and I’m so glad you are spreading the word.
