Weekend Recap….Giant Crabs, Beach Backdrops & Planner Pages

April 27, 2015

How was your weekend?  Ours was filled with soccer games, beach backdrops, sunshine, rain & a few fun planner finds while at Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Here is a recap….

You know when you travel to the beach and there are a slew of seafood restaurants on the strip?  Well, which one do you choose? They all seem to be running the same slogan…”all you can eat Crab Legs & Steak“.  If you were my kids you chose the one that has the coolest crab display on its’ front door.  My kiddos chose the Giant Crab seafood buffet restaurant.  Look at this pic….of, course you can’t pass this crabby show by…

Enough said….we were dining here tonight. LOL! 🙂

Giant sign, bright lights….my kiddos were hooked!

The brightly lite sign over the restaurant read “170 All You Can Eat” items.  “Um,  we were definitely going to check this place out.” I thought to myself.  I love seafood & if there are 170 items there has got to be something there that my picky eaters will eat.

Before we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by a  photographer ready to take our pic for FREE (Yay! Already loving it!) for just dining at the Giant Crab.  We were seated quickly & the wait staff was very hospitable.  Honestly, I am always a little nervous about buffet meals.  Don’t need to go into detail, but I am sure we all have some stories or scary buffet scenarios.  The Giant Crab  seemed to be very clean and there were lots of dishes to choose from on the buffet bar.  Crab, Oysters, Crawfish, Flounder….you know all the good beach eats.  However, my favorite part is that there was a buffet counter just for the kiddos.  The counter was lowered for children and had all their favorites…pizza, hot dogs, fries, chicken nuggets and corn dogs.  Kid food…..this was my kind of place!  Don’t waste the seafood on the little folks give them what they really want.   Here is a pic of my first plate…the second plate was filled with crab legs.  Yikes, didn’t get a pic of that.  :/

About to chow down!

On our way out there was an even a cute souvenir shop in the restaurant where you could buy all your beach souvenirs and Giant Crab t-shirts, bears & coffee mugs.

Souvenir shop at the Giant Crab restaurant.

My kids did enjoy themselves and ate until they were stuffed.  My meal was yummy & there were a lot of items to choose from.  When we return to Myrtle Beach we will make sure we drop back by the Giant Crab.

Have to share a pic from our balcony while at Myrtle Beach.  Beautiful view, but way too windy & cold for my little toes to touch the sand.  🙁  Of course, my kiddos didn’t mind one bit.  Little toes, legs, arms all dove into the cold ocean water.  Brrrrrr!

Beach backdrop….so beautiful! 🙂

Being a #plannergirl,  I had to sneak away from the soccer field and check out a favorite shop or two.  I wasn’t looking for anything specific, but something to add to my planners and the #ListersGottaList challenge that I have been involved in for the last month.  Here a couple of goodies I found at Marshalls while in Myrtle Beach.

I just couldn’t pass these folders by. I am sure I can use them for something, but wouldn’t the be nice if they were framed on the wall?!? Pack of 9 for $5.99.

Kate Spade Bookmark Set…so dramatic, right! 🙂 $5.99 “Remember” Gold & Black notepad. It’s hard to say no to the gold & black stripped combo. $3.99

During our downtime before my older son’s soccer game I had a chance to work on my #HeidiSwappMemoryPlanner.  My kids giggled a little bit when I whipped out my planner supplies, but the giggles did not distract me from getting it done.  I’ve wanted a separate blogging planner to begin to organize my posts & plan ahead.  I am new to blogging and am enjoying the blogging community, but it is important for me to find a happy balance between blogging and family life.  My goal is to be more organized & purposeful in my tasks.  Here is what I did to make my week look a little more colorful & organized.

I’ve never been to Myrtle Beach, but I can tell that it’s my kind of place – I think I could eat a lot of seafood!! Marshalls is amazing! And it’s sister store, Homegoods, is invaluable to me as a food blogger. SO many cheap plates and spices and table decorations! Ugh, I could spend all day in those stores. 🙂

    • All Inspired Mom April 28, 2015 at 6:49 pm

Erica, oh, those plates & table decos!!! I am right there with you! You can spend days on those shelves & then what about that clearance aisle….whoop, whoop! 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by & take care! 🙂 (Food blogging sounds yummy & like so much fun! I just like to eat…no great cooking going on here.)

I love Myrtle Beach. I don’t think we’ve ever been to the Giant Crab, but definitely check it out on our next trip. Our weekend was low key since it rained the entire time.

    • All Inspired Mom April 28, 2015 at 6:47 pm

Hey, YUMMommy! Def take your kiddos there. It was cute & they even had a live band. If you are like you are ready for this rain to go away, ugh! 🙁 Thanks so much for stopping by & take care!
